Carlos

Everyday I am inspired by young people around me. One individual who tops my list is Carlos Mercado, a fitness coach at the local YMCA and a full time undergraduate student at the University of South Florida.

Carlos is a young man who just turned 21 at the end of July but his maturity is beyond his years. He juggles his class schedule, and his job, to put himself through college with incredible focus. In some uncanny way, I see my son in him too.

He is a special young man. It has to do with the way he communicates with people, the humility he shows, his innate kindness, and his positive attitude. He is like a breath of fresh air in today’s cynical world.

Charismatic Carlos’s drive to finish school, his passion for helping people and his commitment to make the world a better place is reassuring. We are in good hands! The youth of today are inspired to make our world better for tomorrow.
