The St. Patrick’s day celebration may have a religious significance in some countries, but the world over it is about celebrating a day that is now engrained in our collective psyches.
The children at the Montessori celebrate with healthy green foods and learn about the mischievous leprechauns. Maybe exposure at a young age will eliminate cultural myopia and teach them a deeper lesson on acceptance.
I love the global celebration of religion and country specific holidays and events. We live in a multi-cultural world and a melting pot of ethnic diversity in the US. Maybe it is time to eliminate the cultural stereotypes and practice acceptance and tolerance.
Besides, a little green beer for the rest of us is probably a good idea!
