I have struggled with HOW I teach entrepreneurship. The models in the text book resemble academic jargon and the traditional pedagogical methods lack a punch. The past two days I had the privilege to listen to two brilliant speakers that explode the models of traditional education and well established management practices.
Rachel Botsman, an Oxford grad, spoke eloquently about the collaborative economy and the new avenues of entrepreneurial innovation with a focus on low asset intensity business models and crowdsourcing. Vineet Nayar spoke passionately about his experiences of re-engineering traditional management wisdom by putting his employees first, and his customers second. I hope to share some of their lessons through these pages in the coming days.
Both speakers left my mind in a whirlwind of conflict and opportunity and have challenged my thinking, re-energizing me to change the way I approach my classes and my business.
I see a lot of work ahead as I challenge the status quo in my world.
Tough to look ahead if I am focused on the rear view mirror.
Time to break whats not broken.
