I have always maintained that it is a lot easier to grow a business, than it is to manage growth. When companies grow, unfortunately, they compromise on the very things that made them successful.
The tendency is to cut corners to pad the bottom line. As a result, service suffers, relationships that fuel growth are compromised, and the focus shifts from excellence to making money.
The sad part is that companies ignore the key factors that drove their initial success.
Growth without excellence is an exercise in futility. It will not last – it never does.
