I feel like a mother to a young one again with toys strewn all over the place. The difference being this time it is a black lab retriever mix named Molly.
Ms. Molly is like a gawky teenager, she falls all over the floor and trips over her own legs. She chases her own tail much to our amusement. Taking her on a leash becomes a tug a war game. She usually wins. Maybe I am secretly preparing for my son to leave for college. I have a new, naughty, kid in the house!
Before you head to buy a fury friend from the puppy mill, look at the hundreds of dogs in the pound and at animal rescues who need homes. A lot of them will end up being euthanized. Look into their soulful eyes, save their lives, and add joy to yours.
Their innocence, loyalty and unconditional love gives me so much happiness. Kudos to my husband for indulging my obsession with these furry, four legged, bundles of boundless energy.
They give so much meaning to my life.
About two weeks ago we adopted a 1.5 yr. old dog from the humaine society. She is so sweet and playful. I am so glad we explored shelter dogs and can give her a new, fun life!
