My Floral Canvas

“I perhaps owe having become a painter to flowers,” Claude Monet aptly wrote.

Perhaps, my love for flowers and adulation for children made me into a teacher and I feel like a Claude Monet amongst a beautiful field of posies — mine being the children.

My biggest passion as an educator is to teach the children the love for gardening. It is truly a calling in my life which I inherited from my mother.

The most joyous moments are out in the Florida sun. The children are the happiest playing tug-a-war over an earthworm or digging dirt right into Ms. Rohini’s eyes. It is fun when socks are soaked and hands are full of grime and dirt. They squeal with delight to see a frog jump from the watering can down my shirt.

We have planted everything under the sun we can grow in Sunny Florida. From watermelons to pretty petunias, you name it, we have planted it already.

I hate getting older but I look forward to every birthday surprise.
An exquisite garden was made one hot afternoon, while I was away. The children were so good in keeping the secret and “Ms. Rohini’s Garden” was created. The children tend to it and are quick to tattle if somebody picks a flower for their mommy or friend.

Gosh, I feel so loved and appreciated. I live, give, laugh and love my flowers and my children. My floral canvas is wrapped with the laughter of my precious Montessori leprechauns and fairies.
