Talent is Elusive

I often say that if you can throw money at a problem and make it go away, it’s money well spent.

When it comes to talent, not sure that holds true. Just because we advertise a position at a high salary, does not mean we will get the best people. We get those who “think” they are good and those that certainly want the fat paychecks, but can’t deliver the goods.

Finding good talent is elusive, and using external experts to solve internal problems is not necessarily the best way to go.  We have to learn to dive into our network and find the right people for the right jobs. And pray it all works out.

Good talent is tough to find, and even more difficult to keep. It’s an ongoing journey for those of us that are on the constant search for excellence.
