I am in awe of the beautiful churches of Europe. From Saint Paul’s Cathedral in London, to the Notre Dame in Paris, the awe-inspiring Cathedrals in Italy, and the ultimate — the Vatican. One feels like a Lilliputian in these grand houses of God.
My thoughts swirl in my head about an era gone by. These beautiful monuments of ancient architecture have stood watch for centuries over political and social turmoil, and generations of worshipers. These colossal, powerful, religious institutions changed history, weathered plagues, famines and wars, and yet today, stand proud and tall in their majesty.
Their chimes and Hammond organs resonate heavenly music fit for the Gods and caress my soul. Everywhere I visit, I light a candle of love and fall on my knees thanking God for his great blessings. I pray for my family and my loved ones, and for those who face personal challenges. I pray for my Montessori family and the precious little children I teach. They give so much meaning to my life.
We mere mortals need to keep the faith and light our candles, and shine God’s abundant blessings on the people we love.
