As an old time theater guy, I know well, the concept of waiting in the wings. I was the understudy for many an acting role, and watched others as they waited their turn, being my understudy.
It is the ultimate training challenge. Develop talent to take over positions of responsibility, so they can pursue their career dreams. And then have them wait patiently for their turn.
We must all pay our dues. We must all reach for things just beyond our grasp. Eventually, good people get their turn, and it is beautiful to watch them blossom.
Take raw talent, add a sprinkle of encouragement, flavor with the right skill set and top it all with a great mentor — and, then, sit back and watch the magic happen.
