I did not know what Thanksgiving was all about until I came to America.
I had never eaten pumpkin pie or even seen a turkey.
This pilgrim migrated from the country of peacocks, not turkeys!
It has become a tradition to invite Indian college students from the University of Tampa to our home, so they can enjoy their first turkey dinner and learn so much about our great American culture. No one should have to spend Thanksgiving alone in a dorm room. No one.
This is also a time for reflection, a time to thank a higher power, and to count one’s blessings.
Time to share our modest home and open our hearts to celebrate the best time of the year.
May the turkey be tasty, the pies be sinful, and may your spirits soar as you celebrate your family and those you love. I wish we could all live with this spirit of gratitude year round.
Happy Thanksgiving!
