It was the year 1995 in India. I was laying on the charpai (a light bed constructed with rope) basking in the December sun when I heard the yelping of a dog in pain. On close examination, I found a black mange-filled emancipated pup stuck upside down on the barbed fence like a fruit bat. We rescued her and gave her a saucer of milk.
Today, the dog, Twinkle still gives me a feeble tail wag every time she sees me. All the thorough bred Cocker Spaniels and Labradors are long gone, but this faithful “Heinz 57” dog is going strong.
I love her. She got a kiss on her old greying snout from me. This dog is 19 yrs old, a World record I think.
Somehow she is more lucky than me. She gets to sleep next to my mom every day.
I loved this story and Twinkles grey snout. I’ve never heard a dog to be 19years old!
