A New Kind of Love

pup

I grew up with dogs around the house in India, but never as a dog lover. At best, I was fond of them. Something to pet and play with, before retiring to the comfort of my home, while they stayed in a small cozy shed outside.

My wife, Rohini, is an avid dog lover, and over the past 25 years, I warmed up to her “babies,” without ever really having my own dog. And then came Molly, a rescue, with unlimited energy. Her personality spectrum ranges from “love” on one end, to being the black devil on the other. I say that affectionately, when her behavior is that of a “possessed creature”.

We connected. We take long walks, most mornings, and she has bonded with me like no puppy before. Her love is unconditional, and those soulful eyes tug at the heart strings. She is MY dog!
She has taught me about a new kind of love.
And I am the one who is richer for it.

    Professor,
It’s amazing how dogs can change us. I’m the same way with my little baby, a tuxedo chihuahua. He means the world to be and is a little darling. I never thought I’d feel that way about a dog, but he always makes me smile!
