A Ray of Sunshine

As I left the office and headed to my car, I saw  the side door to the mini van open, and release a wheelchair ramp.  A young lady in her early twenties wheeled her chair meticulously off the ramp.   I offered to help — “I got this, though thanks for the offer to help”, she said,  and her face lit up with this beautiful smile, like a ray of sunshine.

As I watched her navigate her way to class, I couldn’t help but think about this beautiful young girl who had handled her handicap with such grace and an enviable spirit.

Some of us complain, when we have nothing to complain about.  Others learn to manage their lives with quiet dignity.  The young of today, never cease to amaze me.
