They live in the small villages that dot the hillside. They grow rice and wheat, and run small shops in the local Bazar. They clearly don’t dream of being rich — and if they did, those dreams have given way to a sharper focus on sustenance.
I see the children playing in the streets, and in the fields. i see them clutch their book bags on their way to school. Education seems to be the only conduit to a better life for the next generation.
These simple folks, live a simple life and let the land provide for them. They may not have much, but I sense their lives are less complicated than ours. The lesson for us is to declutter, be less materially focused, and simplify our lives, every which way we can.
