Alexa

Today the University of Tampa community mourns the loss of a young lady, Alexa, who was found unresponsive in her dorm room. No foul play is suspected. Somehow that does not explain, or soften, the tragic loss of a young life filled with promise.

Alexa was one of my advisee’s. Bright eyed, with so much potential. Her young life extinguished way too early. It is not supposed to be this way. Moms and Dads are not supposed to bury their daughters. I can’t imagine their pain. Maybe I just don’t want to let my mind float to those dark places where everyone loses.

Hug your daughters tonight, and say a silent prayer for a young lady and her family. Life can be so unfair some times…….
