As the nation witnessed the Memorial service for former President Bush, I was struck by one common theme. Beyond his multiple professional accomplishments, those that celebrated his life — and mourned his passing — spoke about the character of the man.
In the end, when all is said and done, character matters. That’s a great example for those of us who are blessed to walk God’s good Earth.
Our word matters, as does our integrity, our courage and love in our hearts. We owe that to the children we teach, by living lives that exemplify these qualities. I thought of my own Dad, as he embodied these very qualities.
Rest In Peace Sir. A nation salutes you for a life of selfless service.
