Life threw her a curve ball when she was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago. A young mom with a young child and her whole life ahead of her, she fought the dreaded disease with fortitude and resolve.
Today, she approaches life with an innate calmness and enviable perspective. Very little fazes her. She seems to always be in control. However, she may be like the duck that’s “calm on the surface, but always paddling like the dickens underneath.”
She loves to color just outside the lines. We share a common trait — we tend to beg for forgiveness, rather than ask for permission. I love that about her. I am glad she is on our side. Now I just have to learn how to bottle some of that potion of calmness.
