The line of cars meanders around the block. The routine is the same — pull up to the front of the church, open the trunk, load a box of food, keep on moving. What one can’t see is the economic hardship local families face and the gratitude they feel to be able to put food on the table.
As the holiday season approaches, I think we should collectively reach deeper into our pockets to do more for those less fortunate. No one should have to go to bed hungry. No one.
