I don’t like the chain restaurants. The decor, the food, the service, all orchestrated to make the experience predictable. That’s one of the things I love about Europe, and closer to home, New York. Great food in small, boutique eateries that enhance the flavors and tickle the senses. The ambiance as unique as the menus and a sense of comfort that stimulates the palate.
The chains create the feeling of a mass produced, buy in bulk, initiative that may be good for business, but leave one with a feeling of wanting more. My next endeavor? Seek out small, cozy restaurants, tucked away from the beaten path, where the focus is on unique dining experiences. The challenge? Got to watch that waistline!
