Brokenness

Yesterday I wrote about a five year old child, broken because of a fractured family, where Mom and Dad fight incessantly.  Today, I met a young adult who also comes from a broken family.

This young adult survived and, against all odds, made a life for themselves.

Life can be so cruel and unfair. Children from broken homes usually turn into broken adults.  The good ones harden and get tempered by life’s curve balls.  It should not be this way. However, most don’t get to choose. They must play the hand that is dealt to them.

I can’t fathom this abysmal journey. No one should have to grow up without love and a nurturing family.  Life is hard enough. A life without love seems so hollow, and so tragic.
