There is an earthy vibrancy to a college campus. The first day of classes is always chaotic. Throngs of students fill the hallways. COVID weary, masked students looking for classes with a certain nervous energy and fear of the unknown.
My class was filled with eager eyes and listening ears. Young people have a way of taking stock of what lies ahead. Will this class be worthwhile? There are no easy classes, and certainly no easy “A”’s — not at this Business school. They have to put in the work, and then some.
I love campus life. The energy is palpable, and the youthful exuberance is up lifting. The good teachers enable their students to explore their own horizons. The good students are like little sponges ready to soak it all in. Learning is a two way street. Always was, always will be.
I am so blessed that I found my calling as a teacher. My heart is full today, as I get ready for this upcoming semester. Teaching and learning — they are the gifts that keeps on giving.
