From the highest natural plateau in the world (Table Mountain), to the southern most tip of South West Africa (Cape Point), Cape Town is an amazing city. The water front is vibrant, the scenic beauty simply spectacular.
Winding roads, hug hundreds of miles of bliss. The oceans slap the coast line with total abandon. The scenery is beyond words. Just something to be experienced. And cherished.
The massive townships, home to over 2 million of the poorest, a harsh reminder that the challenges of survival are real. And that natural beauty must take a back seat to putting food on the table.
The energy in the city is palpable. The beating of a 100 drums symbolic of the heart beat and rhythm that gives this town it’s vibrant personality. I have a sense I will be back to South Africa soon. Even as I settle into my familiar surroundings, I can hear the beat of the drums in my very being. And I sense the feeling will stay with me a while.
