I had the privilege of meeting Coach Dungy last week. His credentials speak for themselves — Super Bowl winning coach who was recently enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
However, his best work has been off the field. He has tirelessly worked for decades with multiple charities with a sharp focus on strengthening the family unit. His best work has a specific emphasis on Dads’ and their roles in raising responsible sons and daughters.
I was struck by how soft spoken and unassuming he was in his demeanor. No airs about him. He was patient and was a genuinely good listener.
Usually, those with his kind of fame and fortune carry a king size ego, and a certain arrogance. I was very impressed by his humility and his authenticity.
I learnt a lot from Coach Dungy. A true champion, in every sense of the word.
