Cohesive Teams

Good teamwork is based on trust. Trust is critical as it enables people to talk about their conflicts, as and when they arise, with an eye towards resolution.

Commitment and accountability are essential to good teamwork and to achieve the desired results. It is critical to keep the integrity of the team intact.

The key is to hold people accountable. We have a tendency to side step the issues.  Have a face to face discussion for a broken promise, a missed expectation, or bad behavior.

The cost of silence is that the problem gets worse, and the culture gets compromised. When we choose to accept questionable behavior, we give unspoken approval, and are perceived to be playing favorites. Our choice is simple – do we sacrifice the relationship, and maintain the integrity of the team, or do we sacrifice the deliverable?

Either way, the consequence are not always pleasant.
