There is no equity that stems from corporate buyouts. Some sail into the sunset with bags of gold, a few lose their jobs, and others struggle to adjust to the new normal.
The more difficult stories are about the ones that fight to survive in a new culture. The workload increases, personal champions disappear and many are left to feel like rudderless ships in the tumultuous oceans of life.
A few of those at personal crossroads, have reached out to me, seeking counsel. My advice is simple. There is always a plan B. And if they aren’t happy now, they will probably never find happiness unless they change their circumstances. Calm waters are just around the corner, but they must do something to get there.
