Courage is Beautiful

The eyes are exhausted. Their faces bear the marks of facemasks that have cut into the skin after long harrowing days. The images of these frontline nurses and doctors are humbling. These are the real heroes. These brave women and men who dive into the fire of this pandemic – working tirelessly to save the lives of total strangers. They sacrifice their families and, in some cases, their lives to help those who need it the most.

Who does that? In our self-absorbed, ‘me-first’ world, it takes real courage to go to battle for others. With little regard for money or health, they take on the good fight. I admire that type of courage, because I don’t have the skills or the wherewithal to do they what they do….Courage is so beautiful, and so humbling.
