When we get out of our comfort zone, we get flustered. It’s basic human nature. I watched Susan David’s TED TALK where she takes a profound stance, that really resonated with me: “Discomfort is the price of admission to a meaningful life”.
Ms. David speaks eloquently about the gift and power of emotional courage. She talks with conviction about the importance of being emotionally agile, and ponders the notion that “life’s beauty is inseparable from its fragility”. Amen to that!
The message is simple — accept our emotional selves and use our emotions to make life more meaningful. We tend to bask in the comfort of mundane routine, and rarely leave our safety zone. The aim is to step out, challenge the status quo and break what’s not broken. How else will we ever discover our true potential?
