Doggy Heaven

This morning I read a poignant post from Kullu Kain, about losing his 15 year old dog. It was an emotional read. Been there. Done that.

While I am famously known for talking about my “ugly dogs”, the truth of the matter is that Rohini has made me into a true dog lover. And I am a better person for it.

I have been though the loss of Duke, and Bella, and Oliver. Gut wrenching, heart breaking losses that changed our perspective about life, and death.

Little Emma Rose is now 13, and I can see the age in her eyes, and in her gait. Old age has finally caught up with her. I don’t let my mind wander as to what will be. I just love on this gentle baby.

I think we learn more about humanity, compassion, and undying loyalty, from our fur babies,  than we can ever learn from each other. I wish these four legged gifts from heaven, lived longer — that way, the heartbreak would be less frequent. And our lives would be more fulfilled.
