Domesticated

Hate to admit it, but I am officially domesticated. Rohini is convinced that it took her 24 years to “train” me. That means she has been on a pretty good ride the last 4 years.

I make breakfast, help tidy up the house, constantly walk the dogs, and know more people at my local
Publix than she does. It was not supposed to be this way.

In a strange way, I like my domesticated self, and really love my boring life. We don’t do much on a typical evening. She cooks, we drink wine, and we play with the puppies. Just the two of us. Low key. Mundane.

Who would have ever thought it would come to this? I am just glad it did. That’s the beauty of getting older. We find joy and pleasure in the simple things. And I wouldn’t trade it in for anything in the world.
