The restaurants that dot the water front are empty. Plenty of parking is available. The offices are, for the most part, empty. All collateral damage and a by-product of the work at home culture brought on by the pandemic. This is no small town story — this is the reality of downtown San Francisco.
Those that work from home tend to get socially isolated. They miss the camaraderie and personal interactions that are so central to creating a happy and productive work place.
The commercial real estate market is getting hosed, all around the country. The new normal seems to be here to stay. For me, each day without Zoom, is another day in paradise.
