A career educator, Edward J. Samuel taught math for over 50 years at one of India’s elite private boarding schools. Affectionately known as Sammy, he was a kind, marginally eccentric, and passionate teacher.
He endeared himself to generations of students, and he never failed to bring a smile and joy to those whose life he had touched. Sammy passed away at the ripe young age of 97, in early January this year.
Today, we took a major step to celebrate his legacy. The Edward J. Samuel campus will open in 2021 to provide a world class education to the next generation of Montessorians.
His passion for education is alive and well in his daughter, Rohini. She has devoted her life to the same cause — educating young minds.
We miss you Sir. We will ensure that your legacy lives in the hearts and minds of those that walk these halls.
