Equilibrium of the mind is a daily endeavor, in this journey we call life. Mental health challenges are real, though we sometimes dismiss them as inconsequential – “it’s fine” or “get over it”.
I see a young woman struggling with low self esteem. I see a cancer patient dealing with the uncertainty of what lies ahead. I see a young man crumble with the loss of his mom. Life’s tragic circumstances are a punch in the gut and can throw both our bodies and minds off balance.
Perhaps we need to approach life with more empathy and kindness. That might help those that struggle to cope a little better. We all carry our crosses, some do it with fortitude and others with a focus on survival. Either way, greater kindness can only help.
