The Japanese lost their soccer match at the World Cup, but taught us all a lesson when they left. They left their locker room in an immaculate, pristine, condition. The lesson: FINISH STRONG.
And then there are those who leave positions of employment, and leave a mess behind. Someone else has to come in and wrap up the unfinished business. Professionalism is as much about finishing strong as it is about being engaged when one is present.
When people fail to finish strong, they leave behind a bitter taste, and all the good they have done gets discounted by our last impressions.
