Floyd Cardoz, a world renowned chef, succumbed to COVID 19 yesterday, in New York City. He was 59. His passing hit close to home — adding a face and a name to a growing global calamity.
Floyd and I went to school together in Mumbai in 1981, at India’s premium catering college. We were classmates and friends, finding common cause in life’s pleasures, and time spent in the kitchen. We went our different ways, but left a fond remembrance of our days of youthful indiscretions.
His passing hit close to home. Floyd leaves behind his mom, wife, and two adult children. He was a great guy and a good family man. Rest In Peace buddy. The world will be less flavorful without you.
