As we venture into the New Year, we must let go of the past. I think our past defines who we are, defines our roots and our values. Hold on to those. Get rid of the potential mental struggle that may stem from dwelling on experiences and interactions that stem from negative thought.
I think organizations and individuals should learn from the past, as a way of enabling us to shape the future and accepting life’s challenges. The problems arise when we play the “would have,” “should have” game. You certainly can’t change the outcomes, or the hurt – all you can do is move forward with an eye towards being happy and maximizing your potential.
I have trained my mind to do this, by focusing on the positive, and by counting my blessings. Taking a deep breath always helps!
