From the Archives — December 2013

The following post is from the blog archives from a year ago (originally posted on December 20, 2013 http://www.5oclockreflections.com/the-human-connection/).

Love-technology

As we immerse ourselves in the digital world, we seem to lose the human connection.

Whether it is observing people at a restaurant at any given table — all buried in their smartphones, our obsession for online shopping, or our individualistic society with a focus on ‘I, me and myself,’ the human relationship suffers.

Business relationships that are transactional are not sustainable. Personal relationships that are self serving are superficial. People at large, should focus on connecting with each other at a human level, with an eye towards genuine concern, compassion, and warmth.

Long ago I made a commitment to creating extraordinary experiences for the people I love and to touching lives in positive ways. The rewards are immeasurable and the impact is cleansing. The sad part? We take for granted the people we love the most.

Take time to reconnect this holiday season.
