It’s one of my favorite quotes from one of my favorite movies, The Shawshank Redemption — “get busy living, or get busy dying”. There are a few that bring this to life, and in some cases, make it hit too close to home.
Alex Trebek, Judi, and Ranjana. All people I admire for their intellect, and more importantly, for the kind of people they are…..one other thing, they all are in the fight of their lives as they battle cancer and their demons.
Yet, these three are making the most of their circumstances, against all odds, and continue to fight for their lives, and live and create memories. They have shown that fortitude and strength shine through in the face of adversity and real battles.
If you have a penchant to complain and wallow in self pity, suck it up. There are bigger fights than you can ever imagine. And hope these are the fights you never have to fight.
