Charity season is right around the corner, and organizations urge us to give generously, in the spirit of the holidays. Time to open up our hearts and our wallets.
However, we must only give to those organizations, and causes, where our money is going to those who need it. Not to those organizations where CEO’s are rewarded by multi million dollar salaries, fancy cars and all the trappings of success.
My rule of thumb is simple — if 90 percent of my donation does not go to those who need it, I won’t donate. All it takes is a little bit of research, and a belief in the cause.
We must be generous, but we must only give to those that make a difference, in the lives of those who need it the most.
