Time to put this one to bed. This year has thrown us more curve balls than I care to swing at. No travel, no dining at fancy places, no gatherings with those we love, and no hugs and human connections.
Instead, we have masks everywhere. We stay 6 feet apart, and we stay close to home. The other day, I sneezed at the gym — instead of the customary “gesundheit”, people scrambled for cover, and ran for the exits.
Yes, people are falling sick and dying at alarming rates. I know those that have lost their jobs, and there are families that are struggling to put food on the table. It did not have to be this way. There is a lot of blame to go around, and a lot of finger pointing ,but very little real problem solving.
I think we are collectively ready for 2020 to be over. We have to turn off the lights on this one, for good. The new year brings with it, the promise of a new tomorrow and new hope and aspirations. I wish that it turns out exactly the way you would like. We don’t need a do over. We need a whole new beginning.
Bring on 2021. The world is ready!
