Happy Birthday in Heaven

Happy birthday Dad. He passed away in 2004, leaving a chasm in my heart that has never been filled.  To say he was my hero is putting it mildly.  He was larger than life, and had the Midas touch.  He was generous to a fault, and was simply brilliant.

His generosity towards the poor was what really set him apart.  He gave off his time, and his wealth with alarming consistency.  He was helpful and personable, and cared little for the optics of his methods.

He was the consummate family man, who ignored norms and political correctness when it came to his children. Maybe that’s why we are all a little spoilt.

I miss him every day, and try to live each day, by the example he set for me. Happy Birthday in Heaven, Dad.  I miss you more than you will ever know.
