His name is Khan, and yes, he is a Muslim. He is also a soldier, and an Officer in the US Army. He is as devoted to this country as any one else I have ever met. He has a young wife and three young boys.
And yet, he has to tread softly in an environment where his name is a personal and professional liability. It should not be this way. A young man dedicated to the protection of this beautiful country should not have to apologize for the color of his skin, or his faith.
He has greater fortitude than
the politicians who pose for the cameras and toe the party line. Shame on them. It is time to salute an Officer. And express our gratitude for his service.
