Hope and Despair

As I walked through the halls at Moffitt with my sister, I saw a smorgasbord of emotions on the faces, and in the eyes, of the patients who were there for treatment. I saw hope and despair, tears and fortitude. I saw patients battling their demons and fighting for God’s ultimate gift — life.

There is so much we take for granted. Moffitt always serves as a wake up call for what life can throw at us. And the strength with which the bravest, and most courageous, fight the cancer monster. A day at Moffitt is a gentle reminder of the fragility of life, and to not sweat the small stuff. It is also a reminder to hold close the people we love.
