Human Angels

“ I was born to die”.
“ I was put on this earth to do good for others”.
“ My purpose is to ensure that people are fed, and safe, and healthy”.

These are the expressed sentiments of members of the Sikh community in india, as the pandemic rages.  They are a selfless lot who give of their time, their money, and their heart.

They have set up Oxygen centers outside places of worship; no one ever leaves their home without food; and they serve humanity with a fervor that is humbling and embarrassing for those who do nothing.

They represent about two percent of the Indian population, but do most of the charity in kind and in spirit. Selflessly serving others, and human compassion are among the fundamental tenets of Sikhism.

I bow in respect to what they do for those who suffer. And hope the rest of us learn from their example.  Amazing what we can learn from the humanity of others.
