I Hate Golf

I had some cozies made that spell it out loud and clear — I hate golf. As a self proclaimed hacker, I love the game, and all the agony and ecstasy that goes with it. See the irony? Love and hate closely bundled together.

Golf has taught me a lot about dealing with failure, about the importance of high integrity and that when no one is watching, everyone is watching.

I spend a lot of time on the course focusing on what not to do. It’s an occupational hazard.  Don’t hit it left, so I hit it way right. Stay away from the water, so I hit into the deep rough.  Like life, we spend too much time on thinking about what not to do, instead of focusing on our goals.

However, that perfect shot on a well played golf hole has us all coming back for more. I love hanging out with my “brothers” who make it fun.  Back at it tomorrow, and may some of this hate turn to true love — FORE!
