“I Wish I Could Do More”

Slightly built, with a soft voice, she told me she had worked at the hospital for almost four years. “How do you like your job?” I asked her. “I wish I could do more. I feel that I can never do enough to help the people who walk through these doors. Yet I try every day to do more and more”.

That struck a cord with me. In our minimalistic world, a young lady wanting to —  trying to — do more to help others. And she is not a doctor or a nurse, but an aide with a passion for her job, and for helping people.

This level of dedication  and commitment is wonderfully refreshing and probably lost on those she cares for…. the key is that she follows her heart, with an enviable spirit. Maybe, we all should do the same.
