There is a line in the movie, Jerry Maguire, that struck a cord with me. “If this is empty”, the sports agent says as he pounds his heart, “Then this doesn’t matter”, as his hand moves to slap his forehead. Heart over head. Every single time.
We live in an instant gratification world, where our worldview is shaped as much by social media as it is by the onslaught of technology, and our life that is constantly on the move. We act like the hamsters, often running as fast as we can just to keep pace.
Somewhere along the way, we tend to lose our patience and our hearts. There is something to be said for kindness; for gratitude; for touching a life in a positive way. Learn to practice the random acts of kindness. The rewards just keep on coming.
