Innocence Lost

She ran to me and clung to me, hoping that I could make her pain disappear.  She was scared, insecure and helpless. This from a five year old, who sees her little world crumbling as her family breaks right in front of her eyes.  

When relationships sour and families fall apart, children become collateral damage.  They lose their innocence quickly and see violence and hate that scars them for life.  We need to do better by our children. And not break them before their life really begins to flourish.
