To say the world is topsy-turvy is putting it mildly. This Thanksgiving feels different. People are starving, many have died leaving a vacuum in the lives of those who loved them. Joblessness is rampant and small businesses are getting hosed.
Yet we find silver linings of gratitude this time of year. For those of us who are blessed to work and have stayed relatively healthy, we must give of ourselves.
Beyond giving thanks, we must open our hearts and our wallets to help those less fortunate. That will make it a truly worthy celebration.
