“It’s Policy, Sir”

american_express

I felt like the jilted lover, let down by the very company that I championed over the years.
Welcome to my bewildering story with American Express (AMEX).

ME: May I use my miles?
AMEX: No Sir, these points for this card can be used for magazines and other things — not travel.

ME: That makes no sense.
AMEX: The only way you can use the points are by canceling this card.

ME: That makes no sense.
AMEX: It’s based on policy, not common sense, sir! Would you like to cancel the card?

ME: YES! But I shredded the card in frustration.
AMEX: We have to issue you a new card before we cancel it. Security reasons, Sir.

ME: That makes no sense.
AMEX: Like I said Sir, it’s not about common sense — it’s about POLICY.

ME: Someone please choke me now. Do you have a policy for that?
AMEX: No policy for that, Sir!!

A genius once said that the two most common elements in this world are hydrogen and stupid. This one takes the cake.

I rest my case your Honor!

    Kinda like golf Doctor Rustogi,
“The hardest thing in golf is to swing easy”….sounds way too logical, huh?
