Karoshi

Today, my students presented a case study highlighting the importance of work life balance in corporate America. Too many people killing themselves over jobs to make others rich. In Japan, they call it:

ka·ro·shi

/käˈrōSHē/

noun

1. (death caused by overwork or job-related exhaustion.)

People literally working themselves to death. No thank you. I will pass on that.

I am a strong believer in work life balance.  Work and life need not be on opposite ends of the spectrum.  There is meaningful middle ground.  If your job does not offer you that — time to start looking for greener pastures.
